A win-teresting pastime - part 4

When you dream of sailing the seven seas on a luxury liner and ending each action packed day with a romantic moonlight walk on deck, then take action. Write a few apt and winning words and you could be cruising the oceans worldwide, courtesy of a prize win.
Seek out tiebreaker slogan competitions offering cruise prizes – or whatever prize you dream of winning. You’ll find entry forms in high street stores – check out travel shops as well as glossy magazines, freebie in-store magazines, bookmark entry forms in bookstores, on radio, TV and on the Internet. Example of current UK in-store competitions. Gain inspiration for writing your tiebreakers by reading the accompanying text on entry forms. Then start by making a word list, for example: cruise, harbour, ocean, sunshine, blue skies, blue lagoons, sandy shores
To make your entry stand out from thousands of similar sounding tiebreakers and to increase your chances of winning, try to think beyond the usual words. Remember your first thoughts may be the first thoughts of thousands of other compers. Come up with different slants for instance: island hopping, treasure island, gold and silver, pirates, marooned, message in bottles
As soon as you have an idea for your tiebreaker, write down a few phrases, for instance: Marooned on a beautiful dessert island Don't want to come home - leave me marooned
Toy with phrases to build into tiebreakers as in: My message reads, having whale of a time, don't rescue me !
When competition rules allow you to submit multiple entries, send in different tiebreaker ideas. Rather than rework the same tiebreaker, go back to your word list for more inspiration. See what you can do with the pirate idea.
How about: Pirates searching oceans and seas, never discovered islands like these Or, to bring in the product, for instance it may be a competition promoted by a cereal company to win a cruise or island holiday. You could say: Pirates searching seven seas, never discovered cereals like these
You may like to choose words with double meanings for example: harbour. ”I'd like to win a cruise with product because...
…both `harbour' happy times of enjoyable pleasure, with pastimes, entertainment and times to treasure Should the product be chocolates, you could adapt it to say: …both `harbour’ happy times of enjoyable pleasure, with scenic sights, romantic nights and delicious chocolate treasure
